REVELATION'S TWOFOLD LANGUAGE

From heaven to heaven,
this is the spiral of faith and true ascension

Dear Angels,

In this section, MYSTICISM, we humbly attempt to decipher with you some  mysterious teachings of the new Revelation, the
BAHA'I FAITH, those truths that are not so obvious at first, second or even third glance.  The following Baha'i quotes will serve as an introduction to this fascinating subject.

It is evident unto thee that the Birds of Heaven and Doves of Eternity speak a twofold language. One language, the outward language, is devoid of allusions, is unconcealed and unveiled; that it may be a guiding lamp and a beaconing light whereby wayfarers may attain the heights of holiness, and seekers may advance into the realm of eternal reunion. Such are the unveiled traditions and the evident verses already mentioned. The other language is veiled and concealed, so that whatever lieth hidden in the heart of the malevolent may be made manifest and their innermost being be disclosed.

- Baha'u'llah

And yet they bear witness to this well-known tradition: "Verily Our Word is abstruse, bewilderingly abstruse." In another instance, it is said: "Our Cause is sorely trying, highly perplexing; none can bear it except a favorite of heaven, or an inspired Prophet, or he whose faith God hath tested."
     - Baha'u'llah

Blessed are they that cling both to the literal and to the esoteric, for those are His servants that have believed in the Universal Word. Know that whoso clingeth to the outward sense of the words, leaving aside their esoteric significance, is simply ignorant. And whoso concentrateth on the metaphorical sense to the exclusion of the prosaic meaning is heedless. Only the one who interpreteth the Verses esoterically while harmonizing this reading with the literal meaning can be said to be a complete scholar. This maxim hath dawned from the horizon of knowledge, so know thou its value and cherish its excellence.

- Baha'u'llah, Surah of the Sun (provisional translation)

It is certain that thou wilt forgive me. The handmaids of God must rise to such a station that they will, by themselves and unaided, comprehend these inner meanings, and be able to expound at full length every single word; a station where, out of the truth of their inmost hearts, a spring of wisdom will well up, and jet forth even as a fountain that leapeth from its own original source.
- Abdu'l-Baha

There are certain pillars which have been established as the unshakable supports of the Faith of God. The mightiest of these is learning and the use of the mind, the expansion of consciousness, and insight into the realities of the universe and the hidden mysteries of Almighty God. To promote knowledge is thus an inescapable duty imposed on every one of the friends of God.

- Abdu’l-Baha

Thus... :

- Learning and the use of the mind

- Expansion of consciousness

- Insight into the realities of the universe

- Insight into the hidden mysteries of Almighty God

Otherwise, and from Abdu'l-Baha again:

Thou hast written that thou art a student in the progressive spiritual school. Happy is thy condition! If the various progressive schools join themselves to the universal university of the Kingdom, such knowledge and sciences will be brought into light that man...

- will see that the potentialities of the "Open Tablet" of existence are infinite;

- will realize that all the created things are as letters and words;

- will be instructed in the lessons of the degrees of significances;

- will perceive the signs of oneness in the primordial atoms of the earth;

- will hear the voice of the Lord of the Kingdom;

- will behold the confirmations of the Holy Spirit and

- will find such ecstasy and joy that, being unable to contain himself in the vast area of existence, he will prepare himself for the journey toward the Kingdom and will hasten to the immensity of the Realm of Might. As soon as a bird is fledged, it cannot keep itself on the ground; nay, rather it soareth up toward the Supreme Apex except the birds whose feet are tied, whose wings are clipped and feathers broken and who are soiled with water and clay.

- Abdu’l-Baha

As science explains it and transcendence unfolds it...

Be wonderfully blessed!
