Forget yourself — find God
...the attainments of man’s understanding
are dependent upon his keenness
of sight.

DIVINE MEDITATION III : A Method for Divine Meditation Practice
Learning a five-step method to meditate on the Divine Name of Beauty.
Dear Ones,
While the meditative technique is left to the believer's heart, in this collection of articles concerning DIVINE MEDITATION, a unique yet approachable method is presented that fully aligns with the Baha'i teachings.
Through the five sequential steps (INVOCATION, REFLECTION, VISUALIZATION, IMMERSION, INTEGRATION), the restless discursive thought is stilled, allowing the soul to hear its inner voice. The Master’s message is unequivocal on this matter:
Be wonderfully blessed!

Through the five sequential steps (INVOCATION, REFLECTION, VISUALIZATION, IMMERSION, INTEGRATION), the restless discursive thought is stilled, allowing the soul to hear its inner voice. The Master’s message is unequivocal on this matter:
So long as the thoughts of an individual are scattered he will achieve no results, but if his thinking be concentrated on a single point wonderful will be the fruits thereof.
- Abdu’l-Baha
What finer point to anchor the heart than the nineteen Names of God revealed in the Baha’i Calendar?
Here is our proposition: With the heart centered in the presence of God, begin with a prayer, followed by a Baha'i quotation linked to the selected Name. Then, through reflection, seek an intuitive connection with its essence; immerse yourself in that vision through visualization. At times filled with emotion, the spiritual lesson gained is then embodied through the will in living faith. Seize this sacred moment! In just 10 to 15 minutes, allow the Divine Name of Beauty to kindle your soul’s eternal light through this guided meditation.
INVOCATION: Sit in a quiet corner, perhaps at “the shining morning” or “the rosy dawn,” and breathe deeply a few times, then concentrate on the Divine Names enumerated in this prayer of gratitude:All majesty and glory, O my God, and all dominion and light and grandeur and splendor be unto Thee. Thou bestowest sovereignty on whom Thou willest and dost withhold it from whom Thou desirest. No God is there but Thee, the All-Possessing, the Most Exalted. Thou art He Who createth from naught the universe and all that dwell therein.
- The Bab
REFLECTION on Beauty: Slowly recite these words by Abdu'l-Baha, letting their truth rest in your heart: «All things that have in themselves grace or beauty are pleasing to the heart and spirit
.»
VISUALIZATION of Beauty: Picture God’s radiant grace, renewing creation each spring with perfect harmony. Hear the chirping of baby swallows as nature awakens to a glorious morning, touched by the first rays of sunlight. Linger in this vision.
IMMERSION into Beauty: Rejoice in this splendor, seeing it spread around you, your inner self bathed in the radiant light of God’s Beauty. Rest in this feeling for a moment.
How do you feel? Renewed? At peace? In awe? Closer to God?
INTEGRATION on Beauty: Offer gratitude to God. Welcome His Beauty into your life — perhaps with a vibrant plant or a bird feeder by your window —so as to embrace more of God’s brilliance each day.
Deepen your journey with another Name. Continue with DIVINE MEDITATION IV.
